On the contrary, in my case, it IS the safest way to live as a couple as we NEVER fight about money (we hardly fight about anything else either ). My first wife (ex-wife) and I used to fight about money all the time because of her very bad spending habits (we had a joint account which she eventually talked me into letting her manage by herself...BIG MISTAKE!!!! ).

my ex and i kept our paychecks and spending separate too, made the split easier she knew what she owned and left with it, i did end up with the stupider dog though

It took you two tries but it sounds like you got it right this time, Leo.

Ah ok thought you were older and going for the younger girls

PacAce wrote in post #13140173 (external link)
Yup. And hopefully I won't need a third try.
Actually, I'm going going to stop at 2 no matter what so I"m not going to try for a third!

Sylvester XxX wrote in post #13140228 (external link)
Is there nothing this thread cannot sell?

kokakaste2 wrote in post #13140231 (external link)
Alien Bees?

kokakaste2 wrote in post #13140252 (external link)

Pro tip: the grid does not go INSIDE it goes over the top and clamps around with the spring clips.

this isn't Mark, i'm sure he doesn't need instructions

i had Lamb tonight, mmm !

PacAce wrote in post #13140365 (external link)
Yeah, Mike should know. He nearly wrecked a perfectly good Speedotron grid to get it to fit inside the Demi.

he failed square peg round hole ;)

I helped the economy last night. SILVER SETTI Inc. I've been desperate for a full length light source for my space. My space is nice but it does ensure swear words fly as it's small and the walls are all white. I love the look of te DOs but wanted something griddable, so after months of denial I gave up and silver SETTI+ grid combo. To help justify it means no more Quadra mount on location too.

nice, i'd like to try one

PacAce wrote in post #13140380 (external link)
...until after next week, right?

BTW, I have a gridded DO (meaning, yes, you can grid the DO).

lighttools FTW!

Sylvester XxX wrote in post #13140405 (external link)
Good way to continue your not spending any more on gear this year

so much for a moratorium on gear

sigma pi wrote in post #13140665 (external link)
Oooooo Stealing martins thunder.

Leo has a parking spot next to me at Lighttools headquarters, tetrode's is on the other side of the parking lot and down a ways :p

Yes, I have to park my Yugo in the 40-degree-and-wider-grid-owners off-site lot adjacent to the landfill on the far side of the drainage ditch. However, I do get to catch a glimpse of your (and Leo's) car from the shuttle bus to the main Lighttools building where I have to use the rear entrance.

Awesome. You're going to love the silver setti...as I absolutely adore mine. (swoon!)

Are you getting the grid from mola? Or from honeycomb grids? I haven't sprung for the grid just yet, but it's definitely on the list.

You know Leo, i think i screwed myself a bit though, cause now everytime someone posts one of those its a game of wheres waldo.

And i hated that game, i could never find the bloody bugger!

So i tried to think like the author and see "where would i have put waldo if i was trying to hide him", then i realized that i would leave waldo out of at least 1 set just to mess with people.

I'm excited to work with this. It fills every check I wanted. Griddable, Punchy, Portable, Quadra friendly. I shoot mainly B&W studio now so I really like the contrast the silver setti gives.

I assumed they were the same grid actually? Will order the honeycomb one most likely (if there's no reason not to). Not quite sure how long the Setti is going to take to get here actually.

For some reason I thought that mola had actually released a "flex grid" for the setti, but it appears I'm wrong. Looks like honeycombgrids.com is your only option. I'm tempted by their white grids....smoother gradient from area within grid to area outside of grid.

One day I might get the white grid, but for now I really want the black. I want that hard grid edge. Just hoping it ships in the near future, no real ETA.
