I've got a shoot coming up next week where the model wants to replicate some famous Kate Moss shoots.

My studio experience is limited but I have pretty good understanding of light.

Just wondering if people can give me some pointers on how'd they recreate some of these looks.

I have a couple of shoot through / silver reflective umbrellas, 3 x 18cm reflector and grid set, 100cm Deep Octa, Maxilite and 64" Silver PLM. I have 3 main lights available to me (2 x 600RX and 1 x Quadra (with 2 heads if needed)). I also have a large 6x4 CSB Pro in Zebra that can be used as a full body fill or light source.

This will be the first time shooting in my new studio space at my apartment and I'll have the luxury of autopole based wall booms as well.

Thanks in advance,

Luke,

They look to me to be mostly main light just off camera axis with more or less fill.
Some may even be just a hot shoe flash on a bracket.

A lot of the final look is probably post processing and/or poor reproduction technique.

I'd go with basic glamour lighting and do the rest in post.

Go with the Umbrella on all of the shots and you'll be fine.....

Thanks for the reply Dave W.

Hey Mark, thanks for the reply, was really hoping you'd chime in, you generally have quite basic ways to recreate most things.

I have 3 Umbrellas (not including the PLM). A small 30" shoot through, a larger silver reflective and a small varistar. Which would you recommend?

I don't have much experience with umbrella's as they're generally an annoyance on location.

I'd go with the Shoot-Thru 30".....
