After installing CS5 I kept CS4 on my machine for a few days...everything was working fine, so I uninstalled CS4.

Since then I can't open .psd or .jpg files into photoshop directly by double clicking from Bridge as I used to. When you right click on "open with..." it shows Explorer 8 (default) not photoshop, and then a window appears saying "unknown file association" or some such!

I've gone through the preferences but can see nothing that gives a clue, and I have also tried re-installing CS5 to no avail.

Could someone please shed some light on how I can associate the files in bridge with Photoshop for me?

Try Bridge prefs > File type associations.

Thank you very much Rene! :D I'd gone right over that thinking that CS5 would be the default...doh on my part.
