because i dont have a subject, im forced to test shoot myself. focus might be slightly off but under the circumstances its the best i can manage.

how's my exposure, et al.

They look nice. Next time try it with the flash off to one of the sides @ 45 degrees for more dramatic shadows.

Overall, I think you did a decent job. Like with what jdevarie mentioned, play with lighting more. Try different positions and using a reflector on opposite sides for different looks.

Three things stand out for me in particular. You're like me and it looks like you have oily skin or sweat a lot. Pat your skin down between shots to minimize the glare on the skin. Leave a little more room on the crops. Each photo has one side that is really tight on the crop (subjective matter though). Lastly, the first two photos looks like you're creeping awfully close to your sync speed. Back your shutter down to 1/200 and see if that black faded line on the right disappears.

OH THAT is what that black like was. i was cropping it out and realized any more crops and ill be choppin out body parts. for the life of me i could not figure out what that was or what was causing it, thanks for that its been driving me crazy.
yeah when its hot my skin oils up, i need to find a new subject LOL
