Hi Everyone,

I am desperately wanting to try and take some photo's of star trails and experiment with long exposures, however, it seems that the Rebel XS does not offer a remote shutter release.

I have experimented using the BULB feature with limited success, using my tripod and manually holding the shutter button down. The results have been relatively good, but of course, the pictures are not clear due to shake.

I wanted to know if there is an option available so I can do this and where I can find one?

Thanks,

Almost any remote shutter release will work. I got one on Amazon for like three bucks.

Thanks mltain,

But it seems that there is no place to plug it in. Can you provide a link of the one you bought from Amazon, or eBay perhaps?

Pretty much. They also have one with a programable timer.

Excellent...

Just bought one. Cost me like $5.35 CAD which is a complete bargain, so here's hoping it works. Will post my comments after receiving it and using it.

Thanks again,
