Northern Bobwhite quail
Had the great opportunity to have a covey of Northern Bobwhite Quail hang out close to home last year. They spent the better part of 6 months, well into the winter. The covey had maybe 30 birds on the original sighting and on the last sighting in February their numbers had diminished to just 5 birds. At one point we had 60 inches of snow and they would come running when I would fill the feeders. Got so towards the end they would come to within several feet of me. Very sad to say I haven’t seen or heard them in almost a year now.

It's too bad that these birds are not as adaptive to nature as others. We've all but lost our wild coveys here in SC to predators. Well done.
