Wow... http://photojojo.com …omeness/iphone-slr-mount/ (external link)

I was seriously thinking about this for a moment, until I saw the price. ($190)

That's just about $150 more than I'd be willing to spend on this. I'll wait for the demand to die down and when they start giving these things away, I'll pick one up.

It's still very cool, nonetheless.

For a lot of people who really use their iPhones a lot, it would be nice to be able to use their lens collection too.

That is awesome! I agree it's way too expensive to really justify, but I would love to play with something like that!

I assumed it was an Onion article. Couldn't you achieve the same result holding a magnifying glass in front of you iPod?

The linked site is blowing chunks at the moment, here is an alternative peek:

....the best camera is the one you have on you at the time.

If I were going to bring a big lens for my phone, I'd just bring my real camera instead.

You can get a used 10D for about what that contraption costs.

That is not the same one as I linked. That was a total hack, this is a real product and seems pretty decent.

Here's a better shot of it:

For that money I'd just by a used rebel, the contraption looks to take up about as much space, and if I'm going to be carrying a lens and tripod I will obviously have a camera bag with me. This reminds me of lawnmower racing for some reason. . .
