Thanks, I was happy how photomatix was able to handle all the different sections, especially in the sky areas, usually it fusses and makes a mess with stuff.

#2 is outstanding to my eyes. There's so much that seems perfect about it. Nicely done!!!

I like them both, but prefer the composition in #1. Looks like the scaffolding is leaning a bit.

Probably lens distortion

Probably parallax. The "scaffold" should be quite square, as it is actually a moving form that holds the concrete as it is "stacked". It climbs with the walls.

Hey, new term for me. It's amazing how fast they can go up.

I like them both but the first one seems a bit oversharpened...at this size at least. Great detail in both images.

I am a little confused though. Are these silos being built to hold cement or are they concrete silos being built to hold grain? When I think of a cement silo, I think of a silo containing cement, which is the binder in concrete.

Sorry, I was in the concrete/construction field for over twenty years.

Thanks,

Grain Silos they will be, the Nekoma Elevator burnt down a couple of years ago and they are replacing them with these cement structures to hold the grain. Around here, these are the new rage.

My fault, Gene. I interchange the two words often, even though I know better. We lost some big ones here several years ago. There was an explosion and the debris went several blocks. There were two new car dealerships within the debris field. We watched them build the replacement silos and it was interesting watching them pour and move, pour and move, etc. They were in some of my early HDR (external link)experiments.
