So much work and money goes into it and when you don't get anything it makes you sick. Since this was the final shuttle launch I would have really been sick if nothing went off! One guy I know had four cameras out and not one went off. See you at landing Mike! Not the best picture but I got one and that's all I cared about. Drove 989.7 miles in a total of 26 hours and 9 minutes and only got four hours of sleep. But I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Seeing the space shuttle launch in person is by far the coolest thing that I have ever witnessed. Video was with 70-200 mounted on a 7D. Picture was with a 400mm and a 2x teleconverter on a 50D. Raw video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEbkigGUurU Thx for posting the video, so 1.5 minutes before you can hear 11 miles away, relatively speaking how "loud" did it sound? Distant thunder rumble? It wasn't as loud as it was a very low frequency vibration that you could feel more than you could here. Don't get me wrong, it made a pretty good sound like a jet, but you could definitely feel it a lot more. Website: Photography By NC

It was a continuous rumble louder than any thunder I've ever heard in my life. But the popping and crackling was what made the sound so unreal. You could feel it too, as mentioned above. -Trevor-
