Bought a used 350d...seems to work fine. I am used to looking at my 550d screen which is super clear. The screen on the 350d is obviously smaller ( no problem ) but doesn`t seem to be that clear.......is that because compared to the 550d ( or equivalent recent camera) it isn`t as clear or is my camera LCD damaged in some way. Any thoughts??

Not only is it smaller, but it's only 115K pixels. Your 550d has almost a million pixels, so the picture should be much sharper and clearer than on the old 350d. No malfunction, just older technology.

I also have a 350D but I've ruined the experience when I bought my 5D M2. After using the 5D I pulled out the 350D a month or 2 later and found that using the LCD was next to impossible.

That's a big downgrade going from a 550D to a 350D especially the LCD screen. I gave my 350D to my young daughter to start her into photography.

I understand you needing the back-up. I've heard throwing your camera onto rocks and into the ocean isn't good for it. Could just be a rumor, but it's what I've heard.
