Nice shots, great skintones and that's hard to get with hockey. The last one is exceptionally sharp for being in an arena light situation, what lens and settings did you use.
Where is the action pics?

I like that, especially the second and of cause the last. Thank you for posting them, still curious about your equipment. Your exposure and post processing is great, I'm still working on mine and will shoot the next game on friday.

I use a canon 1d mkII with a 70-200 f2.8 I IS USM lens mainly. I try to keep post processing to a absolute minimum working on the " get it right first time then I dont have too" philosophy. It does normally involve a gentle shaprening and a little levels tweak though, but nothing too crazy!!

These were taken at ISO 800 at 1/500 a second over expsoed by a 2/3 of a stop at least sometimes as much as a stop plus 1/3 for the black kit.

Thank's for the input. You have better light to shoot in then. I can get to 1/400 on ISO 800 and that's what I use, also overexposing up to one stop. But I do need to put a curve on the pictures to make the faces come forward. Thinking about getting the EF 85 1.8 for portrait type pics during the warmup and I probably will get that one anyway, would be nice to come down to ISO 400 sometimes.
Thank's again
Bjorn

Nice work, I find your copyright statement a little over the top, though.

I guess you can never be too safe.

I do find them distracting though

All opnions expressed are totally that of a newbie, so if anyone wants to correct my comments it is appreciated

I think that's precisely the issue and it's one I've thought about often. I've come to the conclusion that people who would be satisfied with printout from an 800x pixel image are never going to pay for a decent copy, so putting a copyright statement on isn't going to gain me much, if anything, in the way of sales.

Again great stuff, sometimes I get to shoot from the penalty box and sometimes I have to shoot through the glass or from way up in some rinks.

You know, I found the copyrights very annoying until you noted that people print them for autographs ... I have had the same "problem" even though my images on the web were not printable by any reasonable standard. I happen not to mind at the moment if these particular ones are stolen for this purpose, but it does mean that your watermarks need to be virtually offensive to prevent this practice ... you have my blessing! Um, you do offer them for a price though, don't you?
