Just curious, do you have a string that attaches your lens cap to your camera? Or do you take it out put it on your pocket/back while shooting?

Thanks

Pocket. Having something dangling from the camera will drive you nuts. And if you use a lens hood (as you should) you can remove the lens cap and keep it of while you are doing things other than shooting.

I think that many of us recall our mother tying our mittens to a string that went through the sleeves of our jackets. We were often embarrassed by that then and I'd be equally embarrassed by having my lens caps dangling from the camera or lens. Besides, they would get in the way often if they were dangling on a string.

What's a lens cap?

Several cameras and more glass than I will admit to.

I use the pocket but keep forgetting to attach it back on and loose it. Next thing you know it "surfaces" in the washing machine :).

There had to be a smart way to make an attachment for the lens cap to be stored somewhere.

I guess I just need to accept the fact that DLSR's are not made for convenience.

I do use a lens hood, which came with my recently bought 18-135. But I have the hood plenty of times put backwards because it does not fit in my camera bag. Which is another topic on bags.

When ever I see a "lens cap keeper" it takes me back to my childhood.
