This little guy snuck up on me one night. I was so still against the cool stones, watching pelicans.

There were a number of them wandering around me. I watched this one get as close as about 6 feet before turning to take a few shots. He looked up with surprise and jumped back and behind into the water again. I think I surprised him more than he surprised me. Maybe I was just too still to be just another annoying human.
