We went to the annual Port Charlotte / Punta Gorda fireworks show, over the Peace
River. Some what smaller show this year, our town, like most, are having to cut back.

All shot with 7D | EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, and this was the first time, this camera
has been on a tripod.

Thank you.

Everything seemed to come togather on that shot.

There is a lot of camera shake for having used a tripod, and it looks like you tried to time your shot right after the firework explodes. Next year you will get a lot better results if you start your exposure when the mortor is on the way up and BEFORE the firework explodes. Use a longer exposure time to capture longer trails. Try about 4 seconds. Remote shutter on bulb mode is a better option for full control and no camera shake. Good luck.

I need to improve my timing, like you said, start the shot sooner.

Most of these we in the 1.2-1.5 sec range, next time I will try a little longer exposure.

Camera shake, that is me not having has this camera on a tripod before this, and a remote is a great idea.

Not to bad, for my first attempt.

Thanks
