Burrowing Owls?

I know this guy has different markings than most burrowing owls, but I also know that there are several subspecies of burrowing owls. There are at least four of these owls living in rock cliffs outside an abandoned railroad tunnel. As far as I can tell, the burrowing owl is the only owl that lives on the ground in this part of the country. Taken today near Kahlotus, Washington.

Very unusual shots of a Great Horned Owl. Nice work.

Burrowing Owls are tiny in comparison. Burrowing Owls are about 9 inches long, Great Horned are around 22 inches.
