Wow, those ring shots are spectacular!

It looked like a great wedding! Two very distinctive cultures combined, how wonderful! I love the ring shots. How many carats are we talking?

Here's my take.

#1: Not all that crazy about this one. Lighting isn't all that great either.
#2: Decent shot. I would perhaps increase the contrast some more b/c it looks like the lighting washed out some of the pop.
#3: Looks like a snap shot I think due to too much DOF. I could crop much tighter and get rid of that car on the right. Colors look off.
#4: Again, looks like a snap shot due to too much DOF. I would again crop tighter. Lighting looks a little harsh.
#5: Looks a tinge soft to my eyes. Not crazy about the spotty lighting for the background. They look underexposed and WB is off.
#6: I like this very much. WB looks off though.
#7: Nice ring shot. Looks slightly underexposed. Maybe adjust the WB to match the one below?
#8: Another nice ring shot. Again, IMO, I think it's slightly underexposed.

I think these are mixed. Some nice shots and some OK shots. That said, it looks like you covered the day well.

i don't think it's underexposed. i think it's perfect. if it gets adjusted a little brighter, some of the details in the ring would be shot IMHO.

If it's perfect, then why does it need to get adjusted a little brighter?

The fact is you have 2 very contrasting elements in these photos. The nice and shiny/bright ring, and the rather darkish "background", which is underexposed by at least a stop and to me gives the images an overall subdued feeling.

It was literally a 2 minute edit. Of course you can adjust it accordingly and it's absolutely up to the person's taste, but the point being because of the difference in brightness between the ring and the background, exposing for the ring will cause the background to be underexposed, which is the case in this shot. Perhaps my edit was over the top to make a point, but the fact is IMHO, this particular photo looks underexposed. Yes, the ring is exposed well, but the rest isn't.

OP, BTW, I would clone out that piece of lint on the first ring shot.

I'm thinking a hybrid of the 2 rings shots (original & edited). More of a snooted flash look with a large vignette would show the color of the flowers, which would look great in a layout with the rest of the decor, while not losing the punch of the ring.

I like the original better also.

I like the original better as well... I think it is exposed perfectly for the situation.
