With RIAT a few days away I have been looking through some shots from last year. Want to get a few frontal shots of aircraft and wondered what other people have got to offer?

I remember a great shot of a Mirage that Huw Hopkins took last year that got me wanting to try similar. Here was my effort anyway :) Tried some without the Nav lights in colour and can never decide which I like the best.

Personally, I'd get rid of the colored lights.

One of my favorite angles to shoot aircraft. Here you go...

Awesome, where does one go to take shots like these? I doubt my airport or even local airport would let me on the tarmac...

I know Jeff's first 5 were all shot from outside the airport fence from a stepladder because I often shoot from the same spot and know we're allowed to use ladders at Phoenix-Gateway Airport.

Mine:
1) From right next to the runway at an early morning breakfast fly in.
2) On the same ramp where the Collings Foundation were parked on one of their "Wings of Freedom" tours. I basically just looked behind me and saw him getting ready to go.
3) Luke AFB Open House /Airshow Media Day
4-7) Air to Air

I think I know from where Jeff shot his second batch but just to be sure, I'll let him chime in... :D

This is just stunning! I love the processing...silver steely stuff. Excellent!

(the other shots here are good, too, but the OP is wonderful!)

Based on the stripes under the wings, I'd say it is...
