"portrait orientation"?? does that mean like vertical shot?

Yes, or crop existing to vertical format... :D A composition 'rule': Vertical subject <-> Vertical orientation

rules are meant to be broken. I think the play with negative space in #3 is great and a vertical crop would ruin it and make it look like any other joe shmoe image.

Ditto. Crop, crop, crop, crop seems to be the rule of the day. Nice use of space. I probably wouldn't have centered #3 quite so much but beautiful subject and beautiful use of light.

Did you have a fill light or just use a reflector?

p.s. - oops, don't like the cut off feet in #5. Cardinal sin, that. Hate when limbs are cut off at their extremity. Just watch for it in the future. And the boots add to the image, if they were in it, that is... ;) Gorgeous work, though. Not trying to be too critical...

Very nice series. #3 is prob my fave, although I think the subject is just a touch too centered.

"Did you have a fill light or just use a reflector?"

nope, it is all natural light without reflector

"don't like the cut off feet in #5."

yes, i agree. it was a walking pose. so it was hard to take a great photo while she is walking without cutting off stuff. but thank you for the critique :]
