My girl friend has always wanted more pictures of us. So we tried some self shots. 7D with 70-200mm L. Had it on a 10 sec timer. C and C welcome.

Not bad. Though you might want to get a shutter relase with longer timer so you can better set up your position. 10sec is not much time.

Nice work.

Just a point of clarification. Is the 10 sec the release or the kiss. Hope it is the releases as a 10 sec kiss with a girl is just so yucky (as we were when we were 10 year old boys) !!

I like the results but would have preferred eyes open in 2 and a subject in 1. 3 is very good.

Thanks for all the nice feedback everyone.

The whole point was for us to try a few different poses we could try with any upcoming client 'couples'. For the two with both of us, I had the lens just about zoomed all the way in (200mm) so I could achieve a nice bokeh for us. That meant that obviously the camera was quite far away. So I set her up how we wanted, focuses, started the timer and ran over. Was good for some laughs.

I actually agree with this idea. Should be something we should try should we do it again. My girl friend liked the idea of the 'almost kissing' look with the eyes closed in number 2.

Think the Sephia tone one (#1) is the one I like the most.
Good sensual feel. I would suggest the similar shot with a few different angles. May be you will find a few more shots for your portfolio.

thanks! and i thought the same. more angles could really turn out nice.

i think the part i like the best is that this is shot in all natural light. i was going to use my 430 ex as a fill, but i ran out of batteries (YIKES!) and decided to go about it anyhow. Seems how it was not a client shoot, but a 'test shoot' for the significant other and i.

Nice shots. The first one is the best.

By the way, I'm using a wireless remote for these kinds of things. The Canon rc5.

Works great, and I dont have to run back and forth like a jojo to trigger a new count down.

hahaha. it was a sight to see....well for her at least.

my thing is how often would i ever need it guess? i have the actual shutter release, but not sure if i have enough need for it to suffice spending the money.

how good is the range on it? like do you need to be directly in front or what?

Well it is kinda cheap, and definitely useful. I use this remote all the time when I travel together with my GF.

But yes, there must be a clear line of sight between you and the the IR port on your camera.
