I am considering a little re-alignment of my lenses.

I currently have:

Canon 10-22 UWA
Canon 24-105L
Canon 70-200 f/4L
Canon 50mm f/1.4
Canon 85mm f/1.8

I primarily shoot Seniors, Engagement/Weddings and Family Portraits. My question is this.Would you ditch the 24-105 and add a new prime?

I am in love with my 50mm and 85mm. The only time they leave my camera is to be swapped from one to the other.

I am heavily considering two options:

24mm f/1.4L
35mm f/1.4L

I would have to sell the 24-105 to make up the cash on either option.

Here is the real question.

Would you do this and why?

Canon 5D MkII x 2 | Canon 35mm f/1.4L | Sigma 85mm f/1.4 | Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro | Canon 17-40mm f/4L | 600EX-RT x 2 | 580EXII | AB800

Me, personally? No.

If I did sell the 24-105, and I don't know why I would, I'd pick up a sigma 30 1.4 and a sigma 24-70 2.8 or a tamron 28-75 2.8 because I'd find that having 2 cheaper lenses which perform almost as good as the 1 expensive lens would give me more flexibility, and I just prefer not spending that much on lenses for marginal increases in performance.

I wouldn't ditch the 24-105. It's a great all-around lens. Save up for the 35mm f/1.4L. 35mm is a good focal length to add to your prime collection. Maybe pick up a 28mm f1.8 or 35mm f2 for the interim while you save for the L.
