I'm looking at purchasing the Powershot S2 IS. Can you use a 4G SD card in the Powershot S2 IS? I know continuous video is limited to 1G, but would I be able to record 4 1G videos on this card. Based on the specs in the manual it should be able to record ~30 minutes of video (based on 3mins, 57sec for a 512MB card). Has anyone tried this?

Thanks in advance,
Topaz88

Topaz - Yes you can use a 4 GB SD card in your S2 IS but I suggest you buy 2 SD cards of 2 GB each.
If one is full and you have to download it to a computer or phototainer you can continue shooting with the other card.
Also if one SD card stops working you can continue shooting with the other one and you loose only 2 GB instead of 4 GB.
In the highest resolution you can record about 8 minutes of movie with the S2 IS or one file of 1 GB at a time.
If you use a 2 GB card you can record 2 times 8 minutes or 2 times 1 GB files of movie, what you reach first.
But you can record several smaller pieces of movie ofcourse. While taking movies you can also press
the shutter and take pictures if something comes up that you would like to photograph.
In that case you loose some space on the card for movies. I hope this helps you and good luck.
