A lot of duplication in those lenses. Sounds fishy.

Well called them, no answer. I wonder if they have receipts for everything.. if they do, I'm tempted to pick up the 5D2 and the 50mm L

Sounds stolen. They might have the products but 50% off seems fishy.

I can't imagine a photographer writing "a magnificent package" if they're parting with all their gear ... i'd be way more emotional than that .... may wanna check in with the police for any stolen gear in the area

Hmm. You should request some proof of ownership and inquire the local police as stated before.

If you do go through with it, I'd say at least ask for some form of ID or something. Bring a friend (several friends) and meet at a library…or police stations…

for this very reason im very cautious about craigslist.

if we do meet, it HAS to be in a public place where i know police will be nearby or on the scene. i then like to show up early and "check the scene." i can easily watch people come in and out if im ten minutes early i get a "feel" for people as they come in and sit down and can watch body language, etc.

that's a hell of a package, id' love to get it for 5k.
5dmk ii, 70-200 and 24-70 alone will be close to 5k

ask why he (or she) is selling and based on that i'd move forward

I saw the same ad and called the number + emailed. I got reply to my email that it is sold. I checked name on the email and found it belongs to a Doctor working in Weymouth. But the name can be of some scammer. Hopefully it is genuine and not fraudulent.

If it's a doctor then it might be legit. And Weymouth is a pretty good neighborhood, well it used to be but it's be 10 years since I've been hanging out there.
Doctors make more then they know what to do with. Expecially if you live in Weymouth, it's not a starting doctor paygrade area.
