Part of the reason why I never went that route is because I can't really have multiple rolls hanging below one another. The 2nd and 3rd are already in a bad place for a lot of the shooting I do and it's not something that can be cloned out. It's actually valuable real estate within the frame.

I didn't feel it was worth it for me to invest in that system with only one roll. Right now I've duplicated my setup with one roll directly in front of the first and I keep white and gray mounted at all times.

It's not as convenient as the Expan system but it works well in my space.

I hear you, Robert, and know exactly what you mean. I had to crank the lightstand all the way up to the ceiling to avoid that issue (barely). If I have to shoot somebody really tall, I'm going to be forced to take at least one roll off the rig (which is very simple to do, though, in a couple of seconds).

This is what I use on the roll:

You'll also need something like this:

And, of course, a way to attach all that to a stand (I use a SuperClamp).

I also use a weight on the edge of the paper to keep the paper more manageable.

i really like this system i have 6 chains and 3 set up locations with the hangers so i can change rolls around

this is absolutley the best way to use seamless paper and makes winding and unwinding effortless

I think that if I was using it more and had the need for many more colors, then it would be invaluable and I'd have it in a second.

I have a second shooting location with a roll of 53" white and black hanging for use as a reflector or negative fill. :D
