Looking to buy a refurbished 70-200 2.8 II from Canon and of course it's showing sold out. Those who have purchased from Canon recently, do you have any sense of how often they update the page? Time of day/day of week, that type of thing?

Wondering if I need to set alarms for 9A Eastern, that type of things to snare me a winner. Or do I need to be totally obsessive and check a couple dozen (or more) times a day and night?

I've seen them update their lens lists Sunday night, Mondays and Tuesdays. My guess is they don't have a schedule for updates. You might get better results calling them every so often too, they're very nice people.

you'll have to be very lucky. the 70-200 2.8 mk 2 sells out almost immediately after it's restocked. they do restock though so keep an eye out.

Thanks for that hint - I'll give them a try tomorrow.

Unfortunately, looks like they just took the price up, too :(

Yipes! That was quick! I ordered at 4:15P ET today, but wasn't able to post immediately. Was still inventory when I posted - hope someone here benefitted.

Looks like we can safely say one remaining - someone must have put it in their cart then deleted it.

Looks like a much better deal than buying used here on the forums. About $100-250 more used on the forums.

I'd much rather have a Canon refurb for less than a used piece of glass, but the refurbs sell so quick.
