Award winning music video Director of artists such as
Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and Jay-Z, Jeremy Rall
shot R.Kelly's latest music video "Radio Message"
using two Canons 5DmkII and one 7D.

Jeremy was kind enough to share with me the gear he used to shoot R.Kelly.
You can check out the equipment list here (external link) as well as a behind-the-scenes video of "Radio Message"

Wish there was more in the BTS video about the actual behind the scenes and none of him talking. But it was interesting to very briefly see some of their setup and the gear list used at least. Thanks for posting.

Not being disrespectful to the 7D, especially as I love mine, but i do wonder why they also chose to use a 7D alongside the 5Ds? Thoughts anyone?

Ian.

Plus the 7D retains highlights better than 5DIIs. Fact.

I love in the photo above that you can buy the entire camera rig for less than the price of the video head its mounted on.

Both are true. And the 5D2 does much better in the shadows. They really are a complimenting team.

Yeah, its kinda of weird. The 1DIV and the 5DII are better on the bottom end, but the 7D has some natural underexposure which helps maintain the highs a bit.

To those who don't know what we're talking about:

*edit* Oh goddamnit, just watched the behind the scenes shots and they didn't even run a rolling shutter plugin.

I don't know about you guys... but from what I heard the 7d doesn't "handle highlights better" it just naturally underexposes which gives the sensation that it does if you shoot side by side with a 5d at the same settings.
