Ok, so its not directly sports, but its called the largest extreme sporting event in the world...and this is my little story (so far, totally unfinished) to go with it

so Bridge Day, organize a small crew, mostly video, mostly students, to team up and go shoot cool stuff at birdge day and make something cool out of it, basically a workshop by students for students, last year it was 3 of us who went for random fun, this year there were 6 with a vague goal of covering the event for fun but we get media passes ect, and next year i expect 12 and more out of it

this shot looks wicked in print

i wish i had like 3 bodies, remotes and shutters, and some long ass glass

*sniff*

i shot a lot more, but the backs of people jumping off a bridge is only interesting for so long, and i was burn out on editing after one memory card...and most photos will require a caption and i dont have my notepad on me, its still in the car

but they gave everyone and their mother a press pass, and fighting for a slot when the person in the way has a sony cybershot in the media area, yeah...just not cool

i'll post the finish product, it will probably be a week or two, got a lot of interviews, lot of photos, lot of video, lot of audio...*yawn* ok im gonna go find food now

i look forward to seeing the finished product Will, but these photos are a pretty good start. looks like one heck of a fun event and with these teasers it looks like you and your 'crew' will have done a great job and interesting angle at the coverage. i love the interview shot from down low in-amongst the bodies, good stuff man.

I don't get it.. so people just jump off this bridge for the hell of it? Is that what it's all about? Impressive photos.

um...it's called base jumping, yeah, pretty much you hit the nail on the head, its illegal though, at least off bridges and structures it is, and this is the only legal day they have for it. Awesome shots Will. Can't wait to see some more. Crazy A%# ppl in this world......lol.
What a madhouse. Looks like a total rush though. With just these few shots here I think you captured the feeling of the event very well.

Hey Blinking... I know this isn't why you posted these, but I really like the subtle titles and copyrighting on these... they don't detract at all. Nicely done. Nices series too....

These are awesome. And most of my subjects need a chair after their first fifteen minutes of performing. Would love to see that last one blown up and with the board cropped off. What a fun looking day!
