This past weekend I was taking some photos when I noticed that if I zoomed toward the 105 mm end of the zoom range I'd sometimes hear a scaping noise. It almost sounded like grit or sand. Pretty strange since I've had this lens for about two years now and never used it on a beach or in any harsher environments. I'm curious if anyone else on here may have run into any similar issues.

Can you find a local camera store to compare what yours is doing with a new one?

Mine doesn't make any noise when zooming. The only noise it makes is when the IS starts and stops.

I think it's best to get it checked!
