anything out there that mounts on my hotshoe and extends so i can mount my trigger while at the same time allowing me to use a hotshoe mounted flash too? (i have a cactus v5 but that doesnt allow for the IR beam to work on my flash which i need).

hope this made sense, otherwise i can draw a pic haha.

I did something similar to this once when I ended up shooting in pitch black, though without wireless triggers. Put my Nissin on camera, then triggered the flashes with the PC sync. If both your on-camera flash and transmitter has PC sync that's one way.

currently got my trigger on the pc port off the camera. flash is on hotshoe. works but in a fast paced wedding, i got to hold the trigger otherwise with velcro it wont hold so i figure if theres a mounting solution, that be best.

Keep the sync cord for the trigger but mount it on a stroboframe or this (external link) perhaps.

I use a similar set up. I sometimes use a rubber band to hold the trigger (Cyber Sync in my case) to the flash, to the camera or to the bracket. I sometimes just wrap the cord (from port to trigger) around the base of the flash or the coils of the off-shoe cord. I've never had the trigger fall off or anything, but last wedding, I think the short cord crapped out on me.

close but ill still have to hold my trigger.
actually more like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com …ashes&hash=item230ca8ccdf (external link)
but with a passthrough hot shoe on one end

i dun think the velcro will work guys. i basically in the crowd shakin my booty too while i take pics. one flick or one elbow and that thing is off on the ground. i need to find a big rubber band i suppose + velcro, perhaps that will hold it. or i should just wrap the trigger in velcro around the flash, yes maybe that will work

Could you use some kind of bolt to go from camera tripod socket to flash trigger tripod socket? You could also use like a 4 foot synch cable and put the transmitter in your pants pocket.

Maybe I am misunderstanding... why would you have to hold your trigger? That cord mounts to your hotshoe and runs to your flash. You then mount your OCF trigger to the top of the part of the cord that is in your hotshoe. The cord passes the trigger signal through itself to the trigger on top so both your speedlight and OCF will fire at the same time.

Edit: you would also have to mount your flash to a bracket.... check out the offerings from newton. if you're going cheap, you'll have to get a stroboframe.
