Greetings all! I have finally made my way to the Wedding section of this forum. Longish story, but a photographer in my area asked me to be a 2nd shooter(I more volunteered if he ever wanted a 2nd shooter and he did soo....haha)
The B&G didn't pay for a 2nd, but the main photographer asked me even though I wasn't getting paid. At this point, I think experience is way better than being paid especially if weddings are something I want to get into myself.
Anyhow, I had a BLAST! It was so fun. The main shooter and I got along great, bouncing ideas off of each other etc. I can't wait to do more.
I have a LOAD of shots, but here are a very select few. I'm not sure of my style at the moment....I tried to keep it consistent. haha.

Anyhow, here they are! Please C&C! (: And thanks for looking.
Alex

Really wish you had commenting turned on for flickr... was ready to comment as soon as you tossed them up there.

I think you did a great job, Alex. Stick with it and learn the ropes. Hardest part (imo) is the formals.

Sorry about that! Thought I had it on so anyone can comment. (:

But thank you! Formals seem...yeah, hard, boring, no wants to take them but everyone wants them. Planning on doing more this year!

Make the formals fun, and pitch that to your bride during your first sit down. My couple this Saturday has really collaberated on some ideas for the wedding party shots, and I'm really anxious to execute them. If they turn out half as good as they appear in my head, my portfolio will be singing my name.

As long as people are having fun, your pictures will show it. I have had some really boring clients, and I am almost embarrassed to use the photos as portfolio builders... but being so new, I don't have a whole lot of choice.

Very nicely done for your first time Alex :) Really liking 2 & 6.

First shot needs a little more fill on her face for me.

As Jeremy said above, fun is key!

Great job Alex, they look good to me and I like them.

Were these your pose or the pro posed them?

Love the processing that you did on them. :)

Mostly the pro's ideas. But on some it was a combined effort. I offered an idea/angle he would tell them how to stand(cause having more than person telling you what to do is crazy! haha)

Thank you all so much!

Alex, good job for your first wedding. Do you plan on shooting more? It may take 2 or 3 weddings before you develop a work flow and style of shooting. I do very little posed if any at weddings I don't really focus on getting the best shot I just capture moments.

be inspired
