I recently discovered something called Gigapixel Photography and thought to share here especially when I found one photo that was shot with a G10!

A lot more can be found here (where you see reference to G10 being used on the photo above)

I recently attended a U2 concert where a gigapixel (I am assuming) photography was done and was blown away. The amount of information on the photo which allows you to zoom and pan the photo is just purely amazing to me. Here is an example and you can find the last guy in the house and tell who he is (assuming you know him :) )

For some reason I think they used something different the image you can interact with is all done at the same time. Everyone is frozen in time...its as if they had several cameras and all shooting at the same time.

If you look at the Inauguration photo, you can find many zones of overlap (or rather merged two photos). The reader comments on that site make mention of that.

For example, look at the Band members who are above the conductor. Or the couple who are standing (yet higher in the pic).

Fun technology, but not perfect? It's an expensive mosaic.

G9's... enthusiast and hobby clicker... toying w/ Canon 2x Tele & Raynox .7x Wide.
