I have an A570 for some time, and have used the EOS software that came with it, no issues. Recently purchased an SX130 and unfortunately loaded the software that came with it . CameraWindow is a disappointment, much less robust than the EOS software. However, now I cant get rid of CameraWindow. The EOS software refuses to connect to the A570. And when I try a message pops up telling me to use CameraWindow. Even after I have uninstalled every shred of Canon software from my WinXP system, and reinstalled EOS software. Even downloaded the latest version of EOS software. still no joy. How do i get rid of CameraWindow and make EOS work with my camera again. thanks, -sid.

Try install the original A570 from Canon software site and install EOS software + update. I did that to all my old Canon P&S. Good Luck.

I didn't think you could use the EOS software with the compact cameras, so it probably shouldn't have ever worked. :)

I uninstalled everything. and then reinstalled from the CD that came with the A570. It claims to have worked ok, EOS software is visible. But if i launch, it will not connect to the comera. and if i select it from the what do you want to do window that pops up when you power on the camera, it launches EOS and then spits out the message that I should use camera window with this camera. I used EOS that came with the camera for years just fine. I also tried same uninstall, and installed latest EOS from website. same issue. CameraWindow insists on being the only software now that will work with the A570.
