Lexar card problem

I have recently bought a Lexar 12x 512MB card for use with my 350D. Earlier to day after taking a few pictures I got a message ‘ERR 02’. Since then I have not been able to access the card using the camera or though a card reader.
I have read of the problems with Lexar 80x cards and the 350D and 20D could this be the same problem or could there be another cause.
I would like to retrieve the photos but I am not hopeful.

If you can't get at it either through the camera or a card reader, that doesn't sound good. This isn't, by any chance, one of the Lexars with built-in USB support (no, I don't know how they do it; I think they have a special cable), and possibly incompatible with "normal" CF readers?

Get on-line to Lexar. Ask for a RMA #. They will recover your images (if possible) and fix the card.

Do other cards still function normally?

Yes its got the little USB icon but I have been using the card for a few weeks with out any problems.

Yes my other cards work fine, first thing I tired as I wanted to make sure the camera was OK.

I will try the Lexar site gasrocks.

FWIW, I've got a bad Lexar 512 12x card too.. It works most of the time, but every now and then it locks up the camera with a flash card error.. I've been sitting on it, but I guess I should see about getting it replaced.. I don't have the original bill so it might be a problem...

I had two of the 2 GB 80X's that I had to send back.
They were very slow with the turn around. They said 5 to seven days, but today makes the second week (14 days) without my cards.
I did get an email saying that they are finally on their way.
Just hoping they're ok when I get them back.

Good luck with yours.

I have the Lexar 512mb and keep getting a "Corrupted Data" error. Exchanged it once for a new one and still get that same error on the new one. All my other cards are fine. I know I won't be buying that brand again.

I managed to format the card but it locked up the camera( and now I am getting a card error.
I thought when I posted this that there would be others with similar problems. I think I will chuck the card it in the bin, I don’t think its going to be worth my while to chase up a replacement as I bought the card on eBay. The supplier is local but I can’t be bothered with the hassle and if there is a problem with Lexar cards and canon cameras I can’t really blame him. For sure I won’t be buying any more Lexar cards.

Shouldn't be a problem. I recently had to return my card reader and didn't have any problems getting an RMA from them. They never even asked for a copy of the recipet (which is good, because I didn't have it).

I would go to the Lexar web page and fill out the form to request an RMA.
At worst you're out a few bucks for shipping it back to them.
At best you get a new card that works.
Use that card for your test shots and you should be ok.

I got my cards Friday.
Lexar sent me two (from what I can tell) new cards.
They look factory fresh.
My only problem was the turn around time.

Replacement cards aren't any more reliable. Lexar has had some real problems recently with Canon (or vice versa).

I shoot for money and can't afford that kind of problem, no matter how cheap the card.
