What are you going to be using it for?
I'd stick with a Canon to work with your 7D flash commander.
I'll be curious to see what others have to say about the 320EX, seeing as it's so new.

i am down to the 430EX II and the 320EX stopped at a few camera shops today and the guys seemed really worthless on info other then "hey its cool it has a really awesome led on the front" but not much else could be said about it and there wasnt a unit on hand to try out with a test picture so that is why i am leaning toward the 430EX II but like you i am curious what others will say also! :)

The only feature that the 320 has on the 430 is the continuos LED light in addition to the flash. This was added to this model for those who want the best of both worlds, and LED for video shooting which your 7D does and the flash for portrait work.

Here's a link comparing the two:

The 430EX II is the clear winner and is an excellent flash. I wouldn't blink twice.

hope this helps :)

thanks canonguy, and you know i am not sure what i will be doing with it windpig! some portraits some low light stuff just need it on hand when the commander flash just wont get the job done!

the built in remote is interesting (but not enough to make the deal though).

also has anyone had problems with the 430EX II overheating? i noticed in some of the b&h reviews that was an issue (guessing here its just dont abuse it and i'll be fine sorta thing)

also going to add speedlites.net to my list of awesome places to visit thanks again for the link canonguy!)

I've got a 580EXII and 2-430EXII. I use a 430EXII more because of it's lighter weight.
That's a good link by canonguy14. It pretty much gives you the info you need to make the choice. I'd go with the 430EXII base on what I read.
