......Adorama is great. Never had a bad print. Prices are the best, too - at least the last time I compared.

thanks so much for the feedback! :D

with the card stock the easiest is to just hang them as is. I only use them for wall decorations at work and the stock is plenty thick enough for that.

One important note, when you download the profiles for soft proofing the poster stuff is a different printer with a different profile.

Good stuff to know -- now I just have to decide if I want any posters to hang! My walls have a lot of my "smaller" framed stuff (though the 12x18s are a nice wall size), hmm...

I use Costco and I very pleased. I also like their canvas prints, cards and their poster board prints both 16x20 and 20x30.

The poster board prints seem pretty nice -- you can just stick 'em on a wall as-is. The canvas ones seem to come out pretty good as well, although I only saw one.

Thanks for all the input, folks! I guess the next thing to do will be to check out the offerings from Adorama and MPix...I guess...

Hi Helen!

I wish Adorama was local, I'd go with you guys in a heartbeat:)!

BTW, how much is shipping for, say, a 20x30 print?

I've only used Mpix - but the three 16x24's I've ordered from them were spot on.

Check with your local Costco on what poster printer they use. My store is a year old and they use an Epson 7900 for posters. I can't remember the paper right now but it's a very nice quality. I suspect most of the new Costco's use the Epson 7900 for posters.

If it's a new Costco in a relatively short time their printer profiles will be on Dry Creek and tou can get all the printer details there.

Trouble with Costco is once you get in the door you find all kinds of other things to spend your money on.

WHCC - I'll throw this in because my opinion is very strong about them. I have compared many test prints against others. Every time whcc prints have been noticeably inferior. I personally never use them nor recommend them.

My experience has been the opposite. WHCC is about the only one I use now, because I have always, every single time, received excellent prints from them. Especially their metallic prints.

What was it you didn't like abut the work you got from WHCC, Dan ?

I just picked up two 20"x30"prints from my local Costco for $8.99 per print and ready the next day. They turned out great and look forward to framing them.

Hey, thanks for getting back to me on this, Helen!

Once I get something in my peepers that I consider worth printing that large (and if I can figure out a place for it in my already crowded walls) I'll shoot some business your way!

Right-oh, and of course there's the "ping Helen" way:

"Adorama! Adorama! Adorama!" (special powers from saying it three times, especially if we click our heels:)!)
