Taking the camera to Malibu...any suggestions?

I don't want to be a pooperazi, but I am taking my camera to Malibu, just for a walk on the beach with my daughter. Don't know where the famous people's homes are, or if it's considered rude to point a camera at them.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Folks who own beach homes in malibu often have a big problem with ANYONE even being on "their" beach. It's a huge issue here and right of access to the beaches has been an ongoing legal battle, especially along the Colony, which is where most celebs live. When you own beach front property, you can only actually own so much from the high water line or some such thing, but some of the property owners seem to think they own the entire beach, which they do not. As for pointing a camera at a celeb, especially if they are at home, or with their kids at the beach etc., I don't think too many of them will appreciate that, but they have no expectation of privacy on a public beach, so do what you will. I wouldn't.

Then there's the added complication that the camera in your profile picture could be mistaken for a death ray device.
