You cannot use the Canon extenders but the less expensive Kenko extenders will work.

Sigma 2x WILL NOT work
it has the bit extending into the back of the lens like the Canon ones

(although it is a slightly different diameter than the canon one, a Canon 1.4 wouldnt fit my Sigma 70-200 f2.8, but the Sigma 2x was fine)

Don't forget to read the teleconverter sticky topic:
https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=41922

Unless you have a 1D(s) body, you will by default loose AF when adding a teleconverter to a lens with biggest aperture of 5.6.
Also, chances are that the lens is not super sharp at 300mm, if you add a teleconverter the softness is exagerated.
I would be hesitant to spending money on a teleconverter for this lens.

The 60D have smaller pixels in the sensor, so while only capturing the center part of the lens because of the smaller sensor, it will put a higher demand on the lens for this portion than the 5D2.
