What are you missing, that the 1DIV does but your 5D and 7D don't?
When you're shooting with the 5D, you're thinking to yourself, "Man, if only this camera would ________"

How will your images improve by making the switch?

The only real thing is the 10 fps will come in handy shooting trap and skeet as I have missed some wicked awesome stuff with 8 fps.....maybe.

I did it. No regrets at all. The 1DIV does it all for me.

i think this is actually a 1 body vs 2 bodies question.

if you can do with just 1 body, definitely 1D4, otherwise 5D2/7D now, or 5D3/7D this fall (?)

=)

It entirely depends upon what you shoot... If it's sports/action, then the 1DIV is the ultimate camera for that purpose. If it's landscapes and portraits, then a 5DII would probably serve every bit as well, maybe even somewhat better.

To be perferctly frank, if you ain't catching it at 8fps you likely ain't gonna catch it at 10fps. You'll most likely just have a twenty five percent increase in missed shots per one second burst. ;)

If after careful consideration you decide that an upgrade might help you achieve the shots you're trying to get, I'd suggest rent a 1DIV for a weekend or week and see if you absolutely need it. Nothing like a test drive to help make these decisions.

I'm almost leaning towards just a 5Dc and a 7D.... I don't really need two 5Ds.....I'm not sure the point of getting a 5D2.

I shoot people, wildlife, sports equally. Not really much landscape.
