I would like to get your thoughts on this picture? I am torn on whether it works or not? I like it somedays, others I think it is "blah."

It is rather flat and underexposed, DOF a bit too shallow for my taste, and the runny nose is quite a distraction, in my opinion. Having said that though, I find myself going all ga ga over babies this age, regardless of technical photo issues. That's my 2 cents worth.

I agree with Sue on the DOF, but everything else works for me. I rather like it, overall.

What does "flat" mean? Sorry... Newbie question I suppose :)!!

"flat" means it doesn't seem to have enough contrast. Did you adjust the contrast at all yet or is this straight out of the camera?

i'm no PP expert at all, but I did a couple of adjustments here. On the original image on the left, it is mostly flat gray and black tones. The image on has a bit of exposure adjustment and contrast added.
