Little bit of Rocky Falls

2.5 miles up the Indian Pass Trail from the Adirondack Loj. Carried the G and tripod. The water is falling 3 or 4 feet.

I quite like this shot - it could almost be considered abstract in its composition and textures.
The water fall is great - looks refreshing (as I type it is 102°F here with humidity). How did you freeze the water or did you substitute a 1 shot exposure? Would make a nice HDR video with sound.
I did some additional processing just as option....nothing wrong with your image "as is" but wanted to see if I could bring out the textures & water colour more.

I like the shot. It's too bad there wasn't a leaf floating in the water above to give a sense of scale.

I'm sure I'm going to be critisized for 'butchering' your image but I thought for the fun of it, I'd take the editing a few steps further than Spike did. My goal was to make your image look more like a painting. I like how the water turned out.

Hey fellas. Thanks for the comments and the alternate takes.
The right edge of the falls fell came over so smoothly that it didn't move through the three exposures;
no single exposure anywhere.
The Adirondacks are a photographers delight aside from the tough walking.
So many opportunities to get these sorts of abstractions interspersed with just sitting and enjoying it.

Nice shot tmcman, and processed quite naturally. Is that a little bit of slit haloing on the edge of the water?

I think if it were mine I would crop a bit of the left edge off and move the water away from the center a bit. Otherwise, I really like it.
