I kind of surprised in the quality of the lens caps that come with the Canon " L " series lens .... pretty poor !!! was wondering if there is something better on the market that someone could advise me of

You should buy a non L lens and then you will be impressed with the quality of the lens cap! ;-)a

What is wrong with the lens caps? I have never noticed a problem.....

quality in whay way? as long as it snaps on, that's all i need. you are able to get aftermarket ones that have the center 'pinch' for ease of on and off.

Lens cover, what is a lens cover? Mine are tucked away somewhere in my bag, can't take a photo with the lens covered. I keep the hood on and put the lens in my bag with that end down, for a fast lens change.
