I didn't really mention that this wasn't anything planned. It was just sort of a spur of the moment thing. I'm trying to figure out what would have made it work better. Does the girl need to have a little shorter hair, or maybe be in shallower water in order to get more movement? Her hair kept wanting to flop into her face.

Needs longer hair, faster shutter, perfect focus, less depth of field.

Neat shots. I do agree though that a faster shutter and less DOF would be a plus. The background is a bit disctracting and the water spray would benefit greatly from faster shutter speed.

I did this with my daughter a few years ago and friends and family members still comment on the picture. I think the most important factor is to have fun. Other than that use whatever settings you want to create the effect you are trying for....

I know it's been done to death, and that's why I said it was just something I decided to try on the spur of the moment because I was sitting beside the pool with a camera in my hand.

As far as the DOF: I wish I could have gotten it a little shallower, but that was all I could get with the situation. I can't wait to be able to expand my camera/lens collection.

Thanks for the comments.
