My wife doesn't want a DSLR, so I suggested the G12, but should I wait for the G13 instead?

Thanks.

What about Fuji X100?
It's expensive but had better overall IQ.
I think canon will introduce a new camera on September.

The G12 is an outstanding camera that has enough features to keep most shooters happy.
I just got one and wouldn't have any regrets even if they came out with a G13 tomorrow.

She might find the g12 too bulky... Might want to show it to her in person before you pull the trigger.

i showed her the S95 and she hated it because it was too small.... she liked the size of the G12... sort of in between a small dslr and a regular point and shoot...

thanks

Same here, considered the S95 due to all the positive reviews it gets online, tried it out in person at Best Buy, and knew I could never enjoy using it since it was so small.
Now I have a G12 and love it.

might pull the trigger on the g12, but I have about a month to think about it... let's see if within a month if the g13 is actually coming out and how much... or maybe the price of the g12 will drop once they release the g13...

will keep you guys posted...

thanks again to everyone for the input...

The announcement of the next G series camera is probably only a month or two away so I suggest waiting a bit -- even though I predict (http://lightdescription.blogspot.com …wershot-g-prediction.html (external link)) a G14 that is very similar to the G12.

I want the g12 so bad but if the next one is really close I'll wait. Not for the next one but for the g12 price to drop. Aw yea

Canon has their G itch every single year, so there is no point ever wait for 'the next G' at all.
