My next lens will probably be the Zeiss 50 f2 MP. I really want to try macro.

Macro is very cool... I want a longer FL lens that could do 1:1... a 150mm or 180mm Sigma should be nice.

if you haven't tried it yet Julian a 50mm Macro for me seems to be very short

ohh I am buying hehe... I might get the legs first, then the 16-35mm before the ballhead. It's all messed up haha

I can't help you anymore. You're monitoring gear pricing like it's the stock market.

There's the Zeiss 100 MP which is 1:2 if I recall but, I'm really not looking for anything longer. The 50 f2 MP would be great as a walk around lens too.

I was set on buying the 16-35mm...but I can't pass up saving $200 on the Gitzo...so I'll get that first

since the 16-35mm and the Q20 prices are stable.

I was looking at tripod bags last night and came to the conclusion that I will just use my old tripod bag hahahaha :oops:

ahhh if you plan to use it as a non macro then I guess you can get that, but IMHO ideally for Macro work a longer FL is ideal, specially if you want to shoot bugs or critters that tend to move when you close in on them

I'm still thinking about it. Not really sure if I want it or not but, reviews give it praise for it's excellent optics.

My Gitzo tripod bag is totally worth it. The padding in the bag is great at protecting it from getting banged around.

yeah but $100? hehe I'll see what I can do, I might just bring my old case and have it patterned in our local upholstery shop here or something, it would probably not even reach $20 :D

Well, maybe I should pick up the 200 f2 instead. I'm feeling guilt for selling off my M9. Gotta make it up somehow.;)

hahaha guilty? big empty hole both in your mind, bag and pocket...and now in your brain? :lo: you're crazy

200mm f/2 is nice...but what will you use it for? you seem to be very satisfied with the 70-200mm f/2.8.

I mean Patterned = Duplicate? or followed? something like that

yeah I know but I can't even get myself to spend $100 on a bag or shoes unless I am really really sold on it... how much more a tripod bag? damn!!! why does gitzo not include a tripod bag in their tripods hahahahaha

If you can find/afford it, the Voigtlander 125/2.5 APO Lanthar is a 1:1 macro and the best corrected lens I've ever used.

Good suggestion. I see those lenses pop up on FM once a while. :)
