A mess today. One of the engineers has an issue with his hip. he broke it 2 years ago snow blowing in the winter. They, the hospital, ****ed up the fix and one leg was 1/2-1" longer than the other. So he went in for a hip replacement last week. complications etc. etc. he is due to have the other one replaced. But then it is all HR stuff about time off etc. etc. Sooooooooooooo, now we are missing an engineer who is able to do the work I want done. So now I am scouring the planet to find one who has access to the same software in one of our other offices. But having to wait - time wise - for someone in Australia/Hong Kong/UK/Dubai to get back to me is a nightmare, whilst getting the logistics in cost for this work to be done outside of this department.
Gotta love office politics that get involved with all this hullaballoo...
