I am utterly useless with PS/Gimp and layering etc. etc. I wouldn't have a clue on fixing photos like that - yet I can use layers and to make fake T/S shots....go figure :D

Interesting...right after I shot this I stabbed 4 people with a sharp stick, so this image is clearly not an accurate reflection of my normal intensity. :D

clearly it is, otherwise the 4 victims would be in the photo...

Haze (at least the way I understand it) is the visible degredation caused by atmospheric disturbance of light waves. I think what you are showing here shows haze, obviously, but also a lot of low-lying clouds (also known as fog).

agree hehe

I guess this is really atmospheric disturbance... I hate it

Good morning.

So I woke up at 5:15am this morning for my ride, I walked out to check the tires on my bike. Rear tire is fine, the front is totally flat again. So I figure I'll just pump it up like last time... nope. There was a stupid hole in the tube... So I spent most of my riding time this morning swapping out tubes, but managed to squeeze in a 30 minute ride. Saturday is going to be miserable :/

Changing a tube should take less than 5 minutes ;) Step it up Nick like NASCAR tire changing times ;)

Let's just say that content-aware-fill works even better than advertised.

Oy! I hate when people tell me its pretty simple when i dont have a clue so i will just say it follows along the same lines of your T/S edits. Just apply that same process to layering in the gorilla image.

1- Lower the contrast of the whole image
2- create layer mask
3- select brush tool
4- make sure color of the brush is black
5- paint over the gorilla only. This will bring back the gorillas color from the original image. aka masking him out from the lower contrast effect.

That is a quick run. Then you can adjust the scene without him. To boost him up you could do the same process but reversed.

No, cause haze affects the light. I guess maybe a CPL will help out, but only a little. The rest is PP work playing with the contrast.

Yeah, well only a small portion of the time was actually changing the tube, the rest was spent figuring out where the hole was, getting annoyed that I didn't check the night before etc etc :p

That and I was half asleep. It was also my only extra tube so I wanted to be extra careful not to pinch it. All in all it was a successful, albeit slow change.

Yeah, I've tried haze filters. They correct the bluing effect some, but haze also distorts information (causing a softening effect). That aspect can't be corrected by anything.
