Poster printing help

One of my customer wants to print a few pictures I shot for him on a 4ft x 3ft posters, so my question is: Although the pictures from my 1DMK2 look good on 8x12s, how would they look on 36x48s? And do I need to do any special cropping with the pictures? Thanks for you help!

Yes, you will need to crop the pictures if they are going to be full bleed, since the poster dimensions are a 3x4 ratio and your pictures are 2x3. You can do it in photoshop by setting your crop tool to 3x4 proportions in the tool bar. You should contact the firm that will be doing the printing to find out how they want you to deliver the file, i.e. will they do the up-rezzing and sharpening or wil they expect you to have done it.
