You captured that baby stage very nicely. At this stage, the kid has enough mobility to get him into trouble and the parents always have to run near him to keep him safe. I love the first shot, as he is looking at you as if to say, "Ok, so YOU are going to follow me around TOO???" He looks so happy with his newfound "wings". Nice.

Indeed, I chose an unfortunate word there - I should have said pictures. The first three especially are very good :)

David no harm no foul, guess the word"snapshot" for me implies taken from the hip, without composition nor subject intended to be the focus.I am a throwback to the early years, lol, where "snapshots" were the photos!

Actually, since I don't have any experience with photographing kids, they are kind of snapshots. :)
Most of the time I was just trying to keep up with him and catch a nice moment.

I got only 40 decent photos from 150 that I took.

They are far from what many have seen here to be called"snaps" you have down what many struggle with, and that is focus, clarity, DOF and composition. Kind of a little more than "snaps";) Give yourself alot of credit!

Thanks. :)

What I meant is that I've spent more time jumping and running around trying to catch him then paying attention to composition.

#1 and #2 are very bright. I know there is a trend - especially in baby and toddler photos - to expose "to the right" and then leave it that way. But it sometimes flattens the contrast and washes out the colours. The next ones - although still bright - are more coloursful and with better contrast - at least in my - humble - opinion.
Focus, depth of field and composition in all shots are good to very good - certainly not "snapshots" :)

But isn't - in essence - every photo a "snapped" shot? It the way you "snap" that counts......

I think that's why I chose the inappropriate word snapshot - because you had little time to compose each picture and so had to grab the images as they occurred.

Each time I view them, I like them more and I'm sure you are a good photographer.

A great set, it is going to be a great keepsake him when he grows up.

I love these, definitely not what i'd think of as snapshots either. I've seen far worse from pro photographers. ;)

Can i ask what lens you used here?

There is EXIF in all of the photos - you just need to click on them for fullres version. I used 5DMKII + EF 85mm f1.2, and EF 35mm f1.4 for 6. and 8.

@vk2gwk:
You are right about overexposing - it was on purpose. But it looks like I overdid it, because when I went to photo store to print them they had to correct contrast and density since it looked too washed out.

Cheers. I didn't realise they needed to be clicked!?!
