nice, prefer the last frame, light too harsh in first 2 frames! but cant block out the sun can we? lol

YES, but could try reducing contrast a bit might make a difference, and a bit of fill light if you have lightroom

I really like #2, the harsh sunlight doesn't bother me so much.

Out of curiosity how close where you able to get? Normally the larger dragonflys are rather skittish (not so much if they're cold).

Very close. I have found if you move in a few steps, they'll fly off but return to the same limb. I keep doing that until I'm sometimes just a foot away, maybe closer
