The watch with the water is really excellent. I like the caterpillar also! The colors really stand out.
Thanks
Thanks Ben!

I've tried watch macros, but couldn't master the lighting which, I think, is the most difficult part of watch macros. Welcome to the forum, btw. Canon 1DMarkIII

sjd70 wrote: John, Thanks for those shots, you have some fantastic toys there. The 007 Omega is my first choice, your pics of the movements were excellent, very sharp with great detail. I find the mechanical complexity of these movements both facinating and beautiful, especially when captured so well. Great work! Sean Thanks Sean! Much appreciated! Welcome to the forum, btw. Thanks for the welcome and kind words. You're correct - it's the lighting which makes watch photography particularly challenging. A light difusing box is a must! I never take my watch off, and I've had it for about 5 years now, so it's got quite a few dings. I tried to clean up a few of them in PS. Let me know where to go from here. Michael G. Beach

mgbeach wrote: thanks for the advice.. here's another go at it. Hopefully I'll be wrangling up some strobes before too long here (fingers crossed for Christmas). Until then, I'm using a 420ex on an off-shoe cord reflected off a lastolite tri-grip at camera right. A piece of black poster board to the left of the watch to control reflections on that side from the windows in my living room finished off the setup. Definitely an improvement! I'm sure those strobes will help even out the lighting from left to right. MEMBER, CANON PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (CPS) MEMBER, NAT. ASN. OF PHOTOSHOP PROS (NAPP)
