Apple Issues Recall on iMac HDDs

Looks like it was a hard drive issue. Link (here). Even if you are not going to upgrade anytime soon, I would still do a full backup, wipe the drive and then get it replaced. Offer is good until July 23, 2012.

This is why I like apple, they admit they have a problem. Unlike some companies, who just pretend the problem isn't there until it becomes an even bigger problem.

An Optiplex series was scrapped and the engineering team that developed it fired. The board and layout design caused shorts in the wiring harness. Customers were not given any warranty extensions nor told about the issue. The only reason I found out is because I have two friends in Dell management in Texas.

I have many more but, that was one of the biggest.
